Dry Needling is a skill that uses a thin needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular, and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments. Dry needling is a technique used to treat dysfunctions in skeletal muscle, fascia, and connective tissue, and, diminish persistent peripheral nociceptive input, and reduce or restore impairments of body structure and function leading to improved activity and participation.
The origin of dry needling comes from Dr Janet Travell, in her revolutionary book, Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction. The procedure allows penetration of a fine needle into the triggerpoints of a muscle to help referred pain syndromes. Our staff are highly trained and can use dry needling to rid you of those difficult pain syndromes. Our staff are highly trained and can use dry needling to rid you of those difficult pain syndromes.
